The Jolley Prize is open to all short story writers writing in English. We seek original short stories of between 2,000 and 5,000 words. Closing 3 May 2021. CRWROPPS Post: Slippery Elm submissions close Feb. 1!

Dear Writer, There are only a few days remaining to enter work for Slippery Elm's 2021 print issue contests (Feb. 1 deadline).   We're getting an excellent crop of submissions already and we're looking forward to our best issue ever, and we hope you'll want to be a part of it!  Prizes of $1000 will be awarded for poetry and prose, and all entries will be considered for publication.  Conor Bracken will judge in poetry, and Gina Willner-Pardo will judge in prose.  Submit up to three poems or 5,000 words of prose via Submittable by February 1.  It's only $15 to enter the contest, and all entrants will receive a copy of our 2020 issue.  Visit our website for past issues and online-exclusive content, and see our Submittable page for complete submission guidelines. Borderlands Development Director Borderlands Texas Poetry Review, an Austin-based poetry journal established in 1992, seeks a development director to maintain current funding requirements, and seek new sources of funding to help grow the journal. This is currently a volunteer position; your time counts as an in-kind donation to the organization. Borderlands is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit. Position Description * Act as primary lead on cultural arts applications, as well as primary contact with City of Austin (COA) Cultural Arts Division (CAD) staff, COA purchasing staff, and COA ADA staff. * Secure and coordinate match funding (cash and in-kind) to meet cultural contracts mandates * Identify and explore funding and other opportunities for the journal * Manage and coordinate follow-up with cultural contracts administrators and other relevant grant-related personnel * In collaboration with Administrative and Production Directors, act as liaison between organizations, funders, donors

CRWROPPS Post: 2021 Bristol Short Story Prize is open

T he 2021 Bristol Short Story Prize is open for entries and we are sending details in case any of your Creative Writing students may be interested. The competition is open to all writers around the world, whether published or unpublished. The closing date for entries is midnight (BST) May 5th 2021 and the maximum word count is 4,000. 20 stories will be shortlisted and published in Bristol Short Story Prize Anthology Volume 14 . The winner and 2 runners up will be selected from the shortlist and announced at an awards ceremony in October 2021. 1st prize is £1,000 (about $1300), 2nd prize is £500 (about $650), 3rd prize is £250 (about $325). 17 further prizes of £100 (about $130) will be presented to the remaining shortlisted writers. All shortlisted writers will receive 2 free copies of the anthology.
