The winner of the 2019 WaterSedge Poetry Contest will receive:

$500 cash prize; publication of the poetry chapbook in both print AND e-book formats; Amazon distribution for Kindle and print; and 25 free print copies.

Tami Haaland is the author of three poetry collections, most recently What Does Not Return from Lost Horse Press. She has received the Nicholas Roerich First Book Award as well as awards from the Montana Arts Council, Humanities Montana, and a Governor's Award for Humanities. Her poems have appeared in periodicals and anthologies, including, Ascent, Consequence, The American Journal of Poetry, The Ecopoetry Anthology, and Healing the Divide.  Her work has also been featured on The Writer's Almanac, Verse Daily, and American Life in Poetry. Haaland has taught in communities and schools both in the U.S. and the U.K. She has served as Montana's Poet Laureate and teaches at Montana State University Billings.
