Starshine and Clay Fellowship Cave Canem ,   EcoTheo Review , and   LOGOS Poetry Collective   are pleased to announce the Starshine and Clay Fellowship for emerging Black poets! Four poets will receive $500, paid reading opportunities, conference travel, craft consultations, publication in   EcoTheo Review , and more. The initiative is named in honor of Cave Canem elder Lucille Clifton (" won't you celebrate with me ") for the mentorship she offered fellows during her tenure as faculty at the Cave Canem Retreat. As such, the fellowship is cohort-based and focuses on development and craft. Gregory Pardlo will serve as the inaugural judge. CRWROPPS Post: Dynamo Verlag Book Contest

THE DYNAMO VERLAG FIRST-EVER BOOK CONTEST invites book-length manuscript submissions in poetry, prose, or any textual combination or reinterpretation of the genres. The winning manuscript will be published by Dynamo Verlag in Autumn 2021 and its author will receive a $500 advance against book royalties. Submissions are $15 and include a copy of the winning book OR a title from our back catalog. Submissions will be accepted until January 31, 2021. We strongly encourage first-time authors and those who have yet to publish a book to submit. Reminder: The Midland Authors Awards contest for 2020 books is now open The Midland Authors is now accepting submissions for its annual literary awards, which will honor books by Midwestern authors published in 2020. Please read the following rules carefully before submitting. (The rules are also on our website .) 2020-2021 Competition Rules The Midland Authors Awards recognize book writing excellence by Midwestern authors. Three judges on each committee will select one winner that is best in that category. Category winners receive $500 and a recognition award. Judges may also deem up to three honorees as worthy of recognition. Each honoree will receive a commemorative award.   The submission portal for the 2021 Legacy Awards closes next Friday, December 18th! The Hurston/Wright Legacy Award honors the best in Black literature in the United States and around the globe. Introduced in 2001, the Legacy Award was the first national award presented to Black writers by a national organization of Black writers. Legacy Award honorees are selected in a juried competition and celebrated at a ceremony each October.
