CRWROPPS Post: Writers League of Texas

Hello, I am the Executive Director for the Writers' League of Texas, and, once again, we're holding a  manuscript   contest , with the winners in 10 categories receiving a registration to the 2021 Agents & Editors Conference  ($500 value) and a one-on-one consultation with the agent who selected their  manuscript  as the winner. The conference will be in-person (hoorah!) September 17-19 in Austin, TX, and brings around 20 agents and editors to downtown Austin for three days of panels, presentations, and one-on-one consultations. Attendees and agents alike say the conference is one of their favorite events of the year.  The deadline to submit is this Friday, April 30. Our past experience with this  contest  has shown that MFA students tend to be very competitive and that the conference itself is an invaluable experience for emerging writers.   One previous attendee called it "the most productive agent expo

The Creative & Professional Writing Program at The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg is seeking a full-time Visiting Teaching Writer-in-Residence to begin in the fall term 2021. The ideal candidate will have published 1-2 books of fiction with a national press; have significant, cross-genre national publications or awards; and must hold a MFA degree or terminal degree in the field. Expertise and publications in multiple genres, especially poetry, would be ideal, as would the ability and expertise to contribute to a developing Writing and Healing Arts course sequence.
