Miami Book Fair's Emerging Writer Fellowships (EWF) program offers a life-changing experience to   fresh and exciting literary voices . Through the generous sponsorship of the Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation at the Miami Foundation, on March 1 we launched a search for the program's next cohort: four writers who will enjoy critical mentorship from a nationally established author in their respective genre –   fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and new this round, Spanish-language   – as well as a host of other strategic supports.   These fellowships support previously unpublished writers who demonstrate exceptional talent and promise by providing them with time, space, and an intellectually and culturally rich artistic community. The program's goal is to actively support these writers – who are working to complete their first book-length project within a year – and help them launch their literary careers. Awarded annually, the Emerging Writer's Contest recognizes fiction, poetry, and nonfiction by writers who have yet to publish a book of their work. One winner in each genre will receive $2,000, a conversation with Aevitas Creative Management , and publication in Ploughshares . This year's Emerging Writer's Contest judges are Chen Chen (Poetry), Danielle Geller (Nonfiction), and Amelia Gray (Fiction).
