CRWROPPS POST: 2020 Bristol Short Story Prize is open
We have recently opened the 2020 Bristol Short Story Prize and are sending you details in case it is of interest to your Creative Writing Students.
The closing date for entries is midnight (BST) April 30th 2020.
20 stories will be shortlisted and published in Bristol Short Story Prize Anthology Volume 13. The winner and 2 runners up will be selected from the shortlist and announced at an awards ceremony in October 2020.
1st prize is £1,000 (about $1,250), 2nd prize is £500 (about $625), 3rd prize is £250 (about $310). 17 further prizes of £100 (about $125) will be presented to the remaining shortlisted writers.
All shortlisted writers will receive 2 free copies of the anthology. Prizes will be sent to any writer on the shortlist who is unable to attend the awards ceremony.
The judging panel will be chaired by author and creative writing lecturer, Billy Kahora.
Billy will be joined on the panel by award-winning publisher, Sharmaine Lovegrove, award-winning writer, Anneliese Mackintosh, and manager of Foyles Bookshop in Bristol, Tom Robinson.
Entry fee is £9 (about $11.75) per story.
