Inheritance: Poems on the Wounds that Shape Us
We're looking for poetry that explores experiences and ideas of intergenerational trauma of all types. We're especially welcome writing from communities of color in the United States and Canada.
Authors are welcome to submit multiple pieces (see guidelines below). We're only asking for one-time publication rights and are open to considering previously published pieces to which the author retains full rights. All contributors receive 2 complimentary copies of the finished book.
Submission Guidelines:
· Please include the author's full name and contact information, along with a short bio.
· No more than six poems per submission.
· If previously published, include original publication information.
The anthology will be edited by Dr. Ryan G. Van Cleave (editor of Contemporary American Poetry: Behind the Scenes, Creativity: A Reader for Writers, and Visual Storytelling: An Illustrated Reader) and four students from the Ringling College of Art and Design Creative Writing program.
Please send all submissions as .doc or .docx attachments to Traumaanthology@gmail.com by March 1, 2020.
Please direct all questions to Traumaanthology@gmail.com with the subject line "Anthology Question"
