Spring 2020 Call for Submissions
Deadline: March 1, 2020
A Gathering Together is a journal that resists the easy and often unsophisticated attempt to say profound things in the moment, in the heat of discursive battle. Our hope and intent is that what we publish will offer more than reactions to fleeting moments. We require of our submissions what our ancestors required of their thinkers: words that speak life.
Our editors are grateful for last season's response and are happy to announce our call for submissions for the Spring 2020 issue. Before submitting, please look at our social media, previous issues, about us, and/or currently reading to ensure that our magazine is a good fit for your work. In effort to facilitate a Pan-African conversation through space and time, we predominately feature voices and works from the African Diaspora as well as the Motherland.
We welcome submissions of previously unpublished essays, short stories, poetry, reviews, visual art, and film for our Spring 2020 issue. You will receive notifications of acceptance within a month of the deadline. If you are interested in writing for our features section, please allow four weeks for review.
