CRWROPPS Post: Miller Audio Prize from the Missouri Review

In case you haven't heard, we write with the news that the 13th Annual Miller Audio Competition has been extended through April 30. These are uncertain times and we know that for many, this also requires new approaches to work – professional and creative – with new limits on resources. We know that the writers and artists in your community have other priorities right now and we value and honor those priorities. The 13th Annual Miller Audio Competition will be available for submissions when and if creative projects for your artists are feasible. We are here and will be here, and would love to listen to the art that the members of your community produce now more than ever.

We would love if you could share this news of the Miller Audio Competition's extended deadline with them. Prizes remain the same: the winner in each category of Poetry, Prose, Audio Documentary, and Humor receives $1,000 along with publication on our website and promotion on our social media platforms. Runners-up in each category will also have their work published on our website in the summer of 2020. More than slick production, we are looking for good, exciting, and compelling writing in all four categories.

The Miller Audio Prize remains to be pay-by-donation at $16, $25, or $30. All entrants in the Miller Audio Prize Contest will receive a one-year digital subscription to the Missouri Review (normally $24) as well as a free download of an e-book from Missouri Review Books.

Deadline: April 30, 2020

We are thrilled to have Alex Sujong Laughlin as our final judge this year. Laughlin is a journalist and writer who works in multiple mediums. By day, she works at a producer at Transmitter Mediaand in her spare time she writes fiction and essays about identity and technology. She teaches interactive journalism at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism and collects rejection letters at @hellorejection.

Thanks very much in advance for helping to get the word out, and we hope to listen to your writers' work soon!

Best regards,

Bailey Boyd
