CRWROPPS Post: Volume 3 Submissions Open!
Hello!
iō, an annually published literary journal that launched last year, is now accepting submissions, and we invite your students to submit their writing and artwork for our third print volume. The deadline to submit is June 30th.
Since iō is open to artistic liberty, we can be a place for your students to explore their creativity in ways they may not be able to in other literary journals.
Who we are:
iō was founded by three women of color with the mission to showcase a myriad of experiences of all people, especially those in underrepresented groups whose voices are silenced or unheard in mainstream culture.
We offer your students an opportunity to submit pieces such as (but not limited to!) fiction and nonfiction, poetry, screenplays, book reviews, literary criticism, flash- & micro- fiction/non-fiction, narrative essays, as well as 2-D art, comics, and photography.
In our effort to embrace all forms of creative writing and artistic expression, iō accepts experimental works, which include pieces that do not adhere to traditional labels or genres but have a story to share. We are open to your students' interpretations of what they deem "experimental."
Simultaneous submissions are accepted, and authors may submit to any and all categories.
