CRWROPPS Post: Writers League of Texas

Hello,

I am the Executive Director for the Writers' League of Texas, and, once again, we're holding a manuscript contest, with the winners in 10 categories receiving a registration to the 2021 Agents & Editors Conference ($500 value) and a one-on-one consultation with the agent who selected their manuscript as the winner.

The conference will be in-person (hoorah!) September 17-19 in Austin, TX, and brings around 20 agents and editors to downtown Austin for three days of panels, presentations, and one-on-one consultations. Attendees and agents alike say the conference is one of their favorite events of the year.

The deadline to submit is this Friday, April 30. Our past experience with this contest has shown that MFA students tend to be very competitive and that the conference itself is an invaluable experience for emerging writers.  One previous attendee called it "the most productive agent exposure I've experienced at a writing conference out of several NYC conferences, Sewanee, and AWP experiences over many years."

Anyone interested can learn more here: https://www.writersleague.org/programs/manuscript-contest/

Questions about the contest can be directed to me at this email address or to our Contest Coordinator Sara Kocek (sara@writersleague.org).

If you could forward this to your students, as appropriate, it would be most appreciated.

Thank you so much.

Becka
