CRWROPPS Post: QUEER EKPHRASIS Submissons at Black Warrior Review
Black Warrior Review is currently seeking submissions on the subject of QUEER EKPHRASIS for a section guest-edited by Anaïs Duplan, which will appear in our upcoming issue 48.1. We'd be grateful if you could share this information with your program.
This call for submissions situates ekphrasis as a kind of queer, relational poetics. Rather than simply responding to or describing a work of art, we're looking for poems that engage in horizontal, dyadic, and socially-aware relationships with works of art.
Anaïs Duplan is a trans* poet, curator, and artist. He is the author of a book of essays, Blackspace: On the Poetics of an Afrofuture (Black Ocean, 2020), a full-length poetry collection, Take This Stallion (Brooklyn Arts Press, 2016), and a chapbook, Mount Carmel and the Blood of Parnassus (Monster House Press, 2017). He has taught poetry at the University of Iowa, Columbia University, Sarah Lawrence College, and St. Joseph's College.
Please go here for the full guidelines and to submit. Submissions are open until 5/21.
