CRWROPPS Post: Post MFA Fellowship, Iowa State University

Post-MFA/Post-Doc in Creative Writing & Environment: The selected candidate must have received an MFA or Ph.D. in creative writing (poetry, fiction, nonfiction, playwriting, or screenwriting) or a related field within the last five years (May 2016). The successful applicant's research and writing will reflect a commitment to an environmental ethos and/or demonstrate experience in environmental thought and action. Candidates must have at least one book in press with a commercial, academic, or independent publisher. Preference will be given to candidates who have at least one published book and who have the ability to teach in at least two genres. The MFA Program in Creative Writing & Environment at Iowa State is particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates whose work emerges from diverse perspectives, including Black, Indigenous, Asian, and/or Latino/a/x experience. Review of applications will begin immediately, with preference given to applications received by June 21. This post-MFA/post-doc position is designed to help emerging writers make significant progress on their own creative projects while also contributing to the undergraduate and graduate mission of our interdisciplinary program. The workload includes teaching three courses per year, and the salary is $53,000, plus benefits, a research stipend, and moving expenses.
