Fw: Hurston/Wright Foundation search for its next Executive Director


The Board of Directors of the Hurston/Wright Foundation is pleased to share that we are actively conducting a national search for our next Executive Director.

The Executive Director works to preserve the voices of Black writers by supporting emerging and accomplished authors through workshops, mentorship, recognition, and financial support. They will bring both a passion for our mission, as well as a record of operations acumen necessary to manage and grow a small, entrepreneurial nonprofit organization. They will lead a team to strengthen our programmatic offerings and forge new partnerships that discover, mentor, and honor Black writers.

The Creative Writing Program in the Department of English invites applications for the Edelstein-Keller Writer in Residence Fellowship! This fellowship is a nine-month academic year position 2023-2025, starting August 28, 2023. Deadline for applications is Monday, April 3, 2023. The fellow will be in residence on the Minneapolis campus for four semesters over two years, teaching two creative writing courses (graduate and undergraduate) each academic year. The fellow will participate in creative writing events and committees, including admissions and graduate thesis committees, and will give a public reading of their work. Subject:  [Open for Applications] 2024 Mountain Words Writer-in-Residence   I am excited to announce that the Mountain Words Writer-in-Residence program , is open for applications, with residency dates running May 1 - June 1, 2024 . It's pretty incredible: one-month holiday accommodation in Crested Butte, Colorado , and a $1,000 stipend.
