CRWROPPS Post: KR's 2022 Short Nonfiction Contest Today!



Accepting submissions through December 31st
Submit your work to the fourth annual 2022 Short Nonfiction Contest.

Maggie Nelson, the author of the national bestseller On Freedom: Four Songs of Care and Constraint (2021), the New York Times bestseller and National Book Critics Circle Award winner The Argonauts (2015), and Bluets (2009; named by Bookforum as one of the top 10 best books of the past 20 years), will be the final judge.

The contest is open to all writers who have not yet published a book of creative nonfiction. Submissions must be 3,000 words or fewer. Click here for full submission guidelines.

The Kenyon Review will publish the winning essays in the Nov/Dec 2022 issue, and the winning author will be awarded a full scholarship to attend the 2022 Writers Workshop this summer.

Each entrant will receive a one-year subscription to the Kenyon Review which will start with the Mar/Apr 2022 issue. (Current subscribers will receive a one-year extension on their current subscription.)
