CRWROPPS Post: Philadelphia Stories

Hello, I am writing again on behalf of Philadelphia Stories magazine to remind you that the deadline is growing closer for our annual Marguerite McGlinn Prize for Fiction contest, open to all US writers (a connection with Philadelphia is not a requirement).

We do hope that you can share the details of this contest with your students.

The deadline is June 15th, 2022. Prizes include:

  • First place: $2,500 cash award and an awards dinner in Philadelphia.

  • Second place: $750 cash prize.

  • Third place: $500 cash prize.

All winning stories will be published in the Fall issue of Philadelphia Stories.

Contest Guidelines:

  • Deadline: June 15, 2022

  • Previously unpublished works of fiction, up to 8,000 words. Please note, "published" includes any work published in print or online, including online magazines, blogs, public social media sites, etc.

  • Multiple submissions are acceptable.

  • Simultaneous submissions are also acceptable, however we must be notified immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.

  • All authors currently residing in the United States are eligible.

  • Submissions must be made via the website. Please email PhiladelphiaStoriesContests@gmail.com with any trouble.

  • There is a $15 reading fee for each story submitted.

  • All entrants will receive a complimentary copy of the Philadelphia Stories contest issue.

The Marguerite McGlinn Prize for Fiction is made possible by the generous support of the McGlinn and Hansma families. We especially encourage writers from underrepresented groups and backgrounds to send their work.

Thanks so much, and we can't wait to read the wonderful stories from you and your students!

Please feel free to reply to this email with any questions or concerns you may have!
