The Seven Hills Literary Competition Opens for the 2022 Season with new categories and an easier submission format.
The contest is open June 1, – September 30, 2022
Early-bird submission fees available June 1, – July 31, 2022

- Young adult novel
- Nonfiction/Personal essay collection (by one author)
- Short story collection (by one author)
- Poetry/Haiku collection (by one author)
UNPUBLISHED
- 10-minute plays
- Flash fiction
- Short stories
- Adult novel excerpt
- Young adult novel excerpt
- Personal essay (maximum 1500 words)
- Nonfiction excerpt (minimum 1501 words)
- Poetry
- Haiku
Prizes: First, second, and third place may be awarded in all categories; however, judges reserve
the right to withhold prizes in any category with an insufficient number or quality of entries. All
decisions of the Seven Hills Contest Committee are final.
- Cash prizes for all prose categories are $300 for first place winners, $200 for second, and $100 for third. Prizes for Poetry (Unpublished) are $200 for first place winners, $100 for second, and $75 for third. Prizes for Haiku (Unpublished) are $100 for first place, $75 for second, and $50 for third. Prizes for Poetry/Haiku (Published) are $200 for first place, $100 for second, and $75 for third.
- First place winners in each category (Published and Unpublished) receive one complimentary copy of the Seven Hills Review.
- First, second, and third place in each unpublished category are published in the Seven Hills Review.
