Greetings Poets & Fans,
 

Today, August 1, 2023, on what feels like and very well may be the hottest day in the history of the planet, we begin taking proposals for NOPF 2024, which will be happening next April, 18-24, with some activities preceding that weekend. We are adding a couple of features to the fest this year, including the NOPF Roadshow, which will be a series of readings at different locations in the week leading up the fest; schedule coming soon. Also, look for an amazing international lineup; schedule, again, coming soon. 

Most of all, though, we're looking forward to hearing from you. We look to you make the primary content for NOPF, so please take a minute and check out the Participate page to see how you can get involved. Send us a proposal for a Reading, Roundtable, or Workshop and we will do our best to get it into the program. Details and proposal forms here.

2024 Important Dates

8/1/2023: 2024 Proposal Period opens.
12/15/2023: 2024 Proposal Period closes.
1/30/2024: Proposal decisions announced. Individual Reader proposals open.
3/1/2024: Individual Reader proposals close.
4/10-17/2024: NOPF RoadShow!
April 18-21, 2024: NOPF24

The Creative Writing Program in the Department of English invites applications for the Edelstein-Keller Writer in Residence Fellowship! This fellowship is a nine-month academic year position 2023-2025, starting August 28, 2023. Deadline for applications is Monday, April 3, 2023. The fellow will be in residence on the Minneapolis campus for four semesters over two years, teaching two creative writing courses (graduate and undergraduate) each academic year. The fellow will participate in creative writing events and committees, including admissions and graduate thesis committees, and will give a public reading of their work. Subject:  [Open for Applications] 2024 Mountain Words Writer-in-Residence   I am excited to announce that the Mountain Words Writer-in-Residence program , is open for applications, with residency dates running May 1 - June 1, 2024 . It's pretty incredible: one-month holiday accommodation in Crested Butte, Colorado , and a $1,000 stipend.
