SUBJECT LINE: $500 Prize for 2024 Poetry by the Sea Book Award

The 2024 Poetry by the Sea Book Award for outstanding poetry collection of 2023 is now open for submissions. There is a $500 prize, and this year's Final Judge is Jane Satterfield. Submissions close on March 1, 2024. Link: https://poetrybytheseaconference.org/poetry-by-the-sea-book-awards/

Details:

1. Authors or publishers may nominate books. Book must have been published in 2023. Note: Books may contain individual translated poems but books in translation are not eligible. Only full-lengths books are eligible (not chapbooks).

2. Books must be submitted by pdf, using the Submittable link. Please attach a pdf of the book and one of the cover to the Submittable form. [Note: Contest submissions are now fully digital which is a CHANGE from previous years.]

3. The entry fee of $50 is payable through Submittable [You do not need a Paypal account to enter]. Entries that are not accompanied by the appropriate payment will NOT be considered.

4. Deadline: March 1st 2024

5. Final judge: Jane Satterfield.

The Creative Writing Program in the Department of English invites applications for the Edelstein-Keller Writer in Residence Fellowship! This fellowship is a nine-month academic year position 2023-2025, starting August 28, 2023. Deadline for applications is Monday, April 3, 2023. The fellow will be in residence on the Minneapolis campus for four semesters over two years, teaching two creative writing courses (graduate and undergraduate) each academic year.
