CRWROPPS Post: Slippery Elm 2024 is open for submissions!


Dear Writer,

Slippery Elm's 2024 print issue is open for submissions, and we're looking for your work!  Prizes of $1000 will be awarded for poetry and prose, and all entries will be considered for publication. Michael Czyzniejewski will judge in Prose, and Paula J. Lambert will judge in Poetry.

Submit up to three poems or 5,000 words of prose via Submittable by February 1.  General (non-contest) entries are always free, but it's only $15 to enter the contest, and all entrants receive a copy of our 2024 issue.  Visit our website for past issues and online-exclusive content, and see our Submittable page for complete submission guidelines.  Check us out in Facebook and follow us on Twitter @SlipperyElmLJ for author bios and other updates.

The Creative Writing Program in the Department of English invites applications for the Edelstein-Keller Writer in Residence Fellowship! This fellowship is a nine-month academic year position 2023-2025, starting August 28, 2023. Deadline for applications is Monday, April 3, 2023. The fellow will be in residence on the Minneapolis campus for four semesters over two years, teaching two creative writing courses (graduate and undergraduate) each academic year. Subject:  [Open for Applications] 2024 Mountain Words Writer-in-Residence   I am excited to announce that the Mountain Words Writer-in-Residence program , is open for applications, with residency dates running May 1 - June 1, 2024 . It's pretty incredible: one-month holiday accommodation in Crested Butte, Colorado , and a $1,000 stipend.
