CRWROPPS Post: Paper Nautilus Annual Chapbook Contests

***

Paper Nautilus is open for chapbook submissions from January 20 - April 20, 2020. We seek poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and mixed- or hybrid-genre manuscripts. Submit here: https://papernautilus.submittable.com/submit

Our Debut Series contest is open only to writers who have yet to publish a book or chapbook; winners receive 50 perfect-bound copies, and 10% royalties on any copies we sell from our website or events. Our Vella chapbook contest is open to all writers; winners receive 100 perfect-bound copies, ISBN, and 10% royalties on any copies we sell from our website or events.

Submission details are the same for both contests: poetry manuscripts should be 16-24 pages (exclusive of front matter, TOC, etc.) and prose manuscripts should be fewer than ~9000 words; please just use your best judgement for the length of multi-genre manuscripts. Thematically-linked work is preferred, but not required. Multiple and simultaneous submissions welcome.

Submission fees range from $5 to $14, and some of the pricing options also include a title from our catalog. If the fee poses an economic hardship for you, reach out and we will do everything we can to work with you. 10% of entries are named as finalists, and those writers are offered free submission (of the same or a different manuscript) the following year.

Previous winners include Eloisa Amezcua, Bernard Grant, Rage Hezekiah, Anita Olivia Koester, Jason McCall, Charles Rafferty, and others, along with 6 new titles coming this Spring/Summer. To review all our titles, visit: https://readpapernautilus.wordpress.com/chapbooks/
