CRWROPPS POST: NDSU Press 2021 Poetry of the Plains & Prairies Award

 

North Dakota State University Press seeks poetry submissions of any style for our annual Poetry of the Plains & Prairies (POPP Award) letterpress chapbook publication. While authors may call any place home, their submissions must deftly capture the feeling of, as well as the reality of, living on the plains and prairies. Authors may submit any number of poems equaling thirty to thirty-five pages in length, with no more than one poem per page. (Single poems may extend more than one page.) The selected poetry collection will be published as a limited-edition chapbook, hand-printed with antique letterpress equipment.

The winner of the POPP Award will be offered a standard contract, national distribution, 10 comp copies, and our author's discount. Submissions will be accepted through March 17, 2021. The winning manuscript collection will be announced by May 10, 2021. There are no entry fees.

The Creative Writing Program in the Department of English invites applications for the Edelstein-Keller Writer in Residence Fellowship! This fellowship is a nine-month academic year position 2023-2025, starting August 28, 2023. Deadline for applications is Monday, April 3, 2023. The fellow will be in residence on the Minneapolis campus for four semesters over two years, teaching two creative writing courses (graduate and undergraduate) each academic year. The fellow will participate in creative writing events and committees, including admissions and graduate thesis committees, and will give a public reading of their work.
