Job Description:
CavanKerry Press seeks a team member who can provide professional grant writing services and has experience working in the field of publishing. You will work with the rest of the team to develop fulfilling experiences for donors and members of the literary community alike.  This role hinges on communication, administrative and organizational skills. You'll be reporting to the Publisher.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Identify, write grants for, and apply to potential funding sources for the press
  • Assist the Publisher in functions related to fundraising events, donations, funding appeals, and networking with charity organizations as well as donors
  • Coordinate donations, create new, and maintain existing relationships with donors
Desired Skills:
  • Advanced in Google (Gmail, Docs, Sheets) and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Ability to manage a budget for a small team
  • Ability to attract donors to the organization's programs
  • Passion and knowledge of literary work, preferably experience in publishing or relevant industry
  • Ability to further CavanKerry's mission to expand the reach of poetry to a general readership by publishing works that explore the emotional and psychological landscapes of everyday life
Preferred Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A) and/or four years' related work experience or equivalent in the humanities or non profits
  • 2 years' experience in securing foundation, donors, and corporate support
  • 2 years' experience in organizing fundraising events
  • 2 years' experience in development and database management
  • Experience in working with volunteers as well as coordinating and implementing special events
