Guidelines:

  • Include these 2 lines anywhere within an original poem you create.

  • The subject, style, and length of your original poem is up to you.

  • UNDERLINE the 2 lines used in your poem.

  • The 2 lines can be separated within your poem.

  • Upon submission, let us know which poem you used.

Creative nonfiction writers, submit your application by April 3 March 1, 2023 Are you or do you know a published writer of creative nonfiction? The Creative Writing Program in the Department of English invites applications for the Edelstein-Keller Writer in Residence Fellowship! This fellowship is a nine-month academic year position 2023-2025, starting August 28, 2023. Deadline for applications is Monday, April 3, 2023. The fellow will be in residence on the Minneapolis campus for four semesters over two years, teaching two creative writing courses (graduate and undergraduate) each academic year. The fellow will participate in creative writing events and committees, including admissions and graduate thesis committees, and will give a public reading of their work. CRWROPPS Post: 2024 Mountain Words Writer-in-Residence

Subject:  [Open for Applications] 2024 Mountain Words Writer-in-Residence   I am excited to announce that the Mountain Words Writer-in-Residence program , is open for applications, with residency dates running May 1 - June 1, 2024 . It's pretty incredible: one-month holiday accommodation in Crested Butte, Colorado , and a $1,000 stipend. Open to all genres including poetry, non-fiction/long-form, fiction, and playwrighting/screenwriting.  Residency alums include Kaveh Akbar , Chelsey Johnson , Chris La Tray , Lee Anderson , Adam Valen Levinson , Bernardo Wade , Megha Nayar , Stephanie Maltarich , Claire Boyles , Harrison Candelaria Fletcher , Jenny Qi , Alessandra Bautze , Molly Murfee .
